Q. Where are you located?
A. All four members of this.is.not.emo were born and raised in Hamden, CT.

Q. Where did the name this.is.not.emo come from?

A. To be perfectly honest with you, this.is.not.emo was just thought up of on a whim, but in time, started to make sense to the boys of this.is.not.emo. All of us here do not believe in putting a label like "emo" on music. We don't believe you can call one type of music "emo" or "emotional" because when it comes down to it, there is tons of music out there that is emotionally driven. To this.is.not.emo, it's all the same to us, it's just good music, and we choose to promote bands that are like the bands on the site because, well, we like them.

Q. Does this.is.not.emo have merchandise?
A. YES! and you can now make a purchase through their MerchDirect site at http://www.merchdirect.net/x/c/home.php?csid=139

Q. How can I sign up for the this.is.not.emo mailing list?
go to the news page and sign up there.

Q. Can I send you videos/photos/be a part of this.is.not.emo?
A. The point of this.is.not.emo is to showcase our individual work as well as public relations. However, if you would like to submit buddy icons, live journal icons, desktop wallpaper, online banners, or anything of that nature for our download page, feel free to email that to us and we would be glad to add it.

Q. Can you send me (insert video name here)? It got taken off the site before I could DL it.
A. Sorry, none of us can distribute the videos. Ask the kids on the forum if they have the video that you're looking for.

Q. Can you videotape (insert band name here) and put the video on the site?
A. We are a locally based site, so we can really only make it to shows within driving distance. We'd love to be able to travel and take videos, but we just can't. If you're patient enough though, your favorite band will probably make it to our area sooner or later and we'll try our best to get a video onto the site.

Q. I'll send money/cd's/merch/anything for a copy of (insert video name here). OR. Hey I was at (insert show here) can I have a copy? OR. Could you put a different song from that show up?
A. Sorry, what's on the site is the only thing that's available to the general public. As far as giving out copies of the show for money or for free, we do not have contracts with the artists, and to sell them would contradict a lot of our moral values. It's just not possible. The songs we pick are usually the best video from the show, and that is how we choose to represent the band. If we choose a video from a show, it's because it was the highest quality video.

Q. Can you get me passes/phone numbers/e-mail contacts/etc.
A. Sorry, we're not tied to any labels, bands, management teams or otherwise.

Q. Why do you listen to such crappy bands/have such crappy videos.
A. Why would you ask someone that and then expect them to treat you with dignity/respect/seriousness?
