DIZZEE RASCAL
"Showtime"

Review by: Matt Browne
With 'Showtime', Dizzee Rascal shined up his trainers and brushed a little of the grime on his shoulders and brought a more coherent, though still heavily stylized lyrical flow. His beats have become more complete since > his debut album 'boy in da corner' and many of the songs are missing his disjointed rhyme style (though they are not in want of it) and are instead home to slick traditional hip-hop spit sessions which touch on subjects of life, violence, and sometimes love, inside his grimy London living. To say that Dizzee Rascal has cleaned up entirely is a mistake, his spitting is still grimy on many verses and his subject matter has remained witty, relevant and enjoyable.
