Review

Broken Social Scene must have a lot of fun playing their instruments.
That being said, 'You Forgot It In People' became one of the
most highly lauded albums of 2003. A cross between Black Rebel
Motorcycle Club, Radiohead and a jam band, Broken Social Scene
hammer out a solid album which veers from most conventions of
modern rock songs and jam out classic-rock style on everything
from solid rock riffs to jazz buildups. On some tracks Broken
Social Scene pounds out richly textured rock and roll songs
such as 'KC Accidental', and in others coast through ambient,
sparse compositions such as 'Looks Just Like The Sun'. The hooks
however are undeniable, and Broken Social Scene proves themselves
a rock band that can prog, and a prog band that can rock.
